Thought for the day - What is Excellence?
A person once visited a temple under construction where he saw a sculptor making an idol of God.. Suddenly he noticed a similar idol lying nearby.
Surprised, he asked the sculptor, "Do you need two statues of the same idol?"
"No," said the sculptor without looking up, "We need only one, but the first one got damaged at the last stage."
The gentleman examined the idol and found no apparent damage. "Where is the damage?" he asked.
"There is a scratch on the nose of the idol." said the sculptor, still busy with his work.
"Where are you going to install the idol?"
The sculptor replied that it would be installed on a pillar twenty feet high.
"If the idol is that far, who is going to know that there is a scratch on the nose?" the gentleman asked.
The sculptor stopped his work, looked up at the gentleman, smiled and said, "I will know it."
The desire to excel is exclusive of the fact whether someone else appreciates it or not.
"Excellence" is a drive from inside, not outside. Excellence is not for someone else to notice but for your own satisfaction and efficiency..

Thought for the day - 'Just for Today, I Will Act in Congruency!'
Just for Today, I Will Act in Congruency!
What does one mean by congruency? Remember geometry – where you learnt that if any two figures are the same in shape and size, they are said to be congruent. Two things are congruent when they are exactly the same. Applied to life, congruency simply means that your mind and body go in the same direction. What you have in your mind is exactly what you act on and what you act as. Sounds too simple?
What you need is to focus you mind on the task that you have in hand. Focus your entire attention on that task, and cut yourself out from the rest of the world. Let there no interruptions, no distractions. To achieve congruency, it is extremely important to do only one thing at a time. Congruency can give you the most amazing benefits, especially if you make it a way of life. In almost every aspect of life, acting this way is beneficial. Everywhere the mind and body are focused and that makes a powerful combination that brings powerful changes.
Let’s start making this a way of life!

Thought for the day - 'Just for Today, I Will Keep an Open Mind!'
Just for Today, I Will Keep an Open Mind!
The human organism has one remarkable quality – it tends to learn from the past. We always recall our experiences and use them to evaluate similar situations in the future. That is how we learn and grow. But there are times when this very quality becomes a problem! In childhood if you were chased by a ferocious dog, for example, this will be stored in your memory. This will make you believe that all dogs are dangerous. So the next time you approach a dog, you’ll feel fearful. Even if the dog is friendly, your past conditioning will not allow you to accept this fact. That’s how old beliefs get stronger.
When you look at someone really old, you’ll find that it is very difficult for people to change their beliefs, simply because they are so deep rooted. So just for today, you’ll be open to new ideas and look at them objectively. When you receive a suggestion, don’t just discount it right away. Look at it and try and see what the other person is trying to tell you. You may actually end up discovering a very precious treasure!
Keeping your mind open has a spiritual component to it too. It involves looking for coincidences. Basically, no event in your life is a mere coincidence, but it has a deeper meaning to it. So if you have an intuition, display the guts to follow it. Be open to the way events are moving, for they will lead you somewhere. Just for today, you will also not force your way of things – let things move the way they are. Learn to go with flow, rather than trying to go against it, and wanting your way to happen. Accept other ideas, opinions and decisions – it’s just for today!
Remember, a closed mind is like a closed parachute. It is of no use, and a big burden on your back!
Now the choice is yours!
